There are so many great tools out there to use for instruction. One of the frustrations at our school is access. We do not have one-to-one access in school. Few of my students (English learners) have internet access at home. Few classrooms have student computers. I do not have my own classroom. In order to have students access laptops on a regular basis I need to reserve a laptop cart ahead of time and roll them to my class between periods (4 minutes). Have students shut them down at the end of class, return them to the library, and get to my next class before the bell rings! It can be done, but it is a hurdle.
That said, technology is a good motivator for students. They are excited to learn and use new tools. I'm hoping I will leave these workshops with some tangible ways to help students learn through new technological tools.
